Big Muscle Debuts On Drive

Mike Musto is the car guy’s car guy. He’s run Bullrun, campaigned a vintage Dodge Charger called “Mr. Angry” in One Lap of America and has forgotten more about the pro-touring scene than you or I will ever learn. Now he’s got his own weekly series on YouTube’s Drive channel called “Big Muscle,” and if the first episode is any indication, it will be worth tuning into.

What do you get when you cross a 1949 Ford F5 dump truck with a 1997 Ford F350 diesel and a 1935 Miller Indy Car? We’re not sure, either, but the end result is the one-of-a-kind rod seen here, built by Max Allread. If it’s performance you want, Allread’s truck won’t disappoint – it’s packing 400 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque under its hood.

That’s impressive, but the detail on the build is even more amazing. Those stencils on the doors? Original to the truck, which was last registered in 1985. Those aircraft-style seats? Allread built them himself. The front suspension? Inspired by a vintage Indy car.

Now matter how well built, most rods don’t capture your attention for long, but Allread’s seems to cross generations and demographics. From any angle, there’s always something to look at, and it’s impossible to view the truck without wanting to jump in and go for a ride. We’re not even into the hot rod scene, but we’d love a chance to spend a day with Allread’s Dr. Frankenstein creation. It’s a sculpture that even we can appreciate.

2011 Jaguar XJ Supercharged Review & Test Drive

If you enjoy driving in the lap of luxury, then you may fit the profile of someone who may consider owning a Jaguar. Jaguar vehicles are well recognized by enthusiasts as well as the common Joe, both who admire some of the finer things in life. The all-new Jaguar XJ, despite its somewhat unfamiliar good looks, wears its new skin very well distinguishing it from the rest of the luxury car crowd.

Totally redesigned for 2010, the new Jaguar XJ literally leaves behind whatever statement the outgoing model made. The XJ is Jaguars flagship that once housed V12 engines under the bonnet and dates back to 1968. Nowadays, the V12s are replaced by supercharged V8s, which is what’s found in the new supercharged XJ. The new 2011 Jaguar XJ has innovation written all over its exterior and is subtly carried into the lavishly appointed interior. In other words, today’s hip-culture would say that the new Jaguar XJ is so 3008 while the old Jaguar XJ was 2000-late. Read more…

2011 Hyundai Elantra GLS Review & Test Drive

The all-new, totally redesigned, 2011 Hyundai Elantra now takes its proper placement just below the new Sonata when it comes to size. Entering into its fifth-generation, the new 2011 Elantra gets its styling cues directly from the bigger Sonata, which is not a bad thing at all considering how well perceived the Sonata is.

When it comes to vehicles going up against the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Ford Focus and new Chevy Cruze, they better bring their A-game. Hyundai has nothing to worry about because that is just what they did; they brought out unique styling, and decent performance with superb gas mileage all wrapped up in a trusted economic package. First Drive 2014 Volkswagen Golf Blue-E-Motion

We recently had the opportunity Volkswagen Volkswagen Golf Blue Motion Drive in e-visibility home town of Wolfsburg, and we can say that it is very likely the best cars and the best affordable electric driving. But we are not convinced, even disappointing.

To explain this apparent paradox, let’s start with fifty backgrounder on the state of the race electric car.  As you may have heard, Nissan and General Motors ramping production of (relatively) cheap and (relatively) electric vehicles practical. Suddenly, every automaker is not mass-produced electric vehicle is behind the technology curve – or at least perceived as such. This also applies to the mighty Volkswagen Group. Of course, the world’s fastest production car and some of these concepts appear very attractive in a green sports car Porsche 918 Spyder, and the High E to build Tron. But it can and will produce Nissan Leaf Rivals? Read more…

2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK350 First Drive

2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK350

Launched since the first Mercedes-Benz SLK in 1997 to life, trying Mercedes Roadster seemingly small, people think, it is to deceive another car. At first glance, the original SLK SL appeared. His successor, the SLK in 2005, had the nose of an SLR McLaren. And given the current SLK has us thinking SLS. Since everything looks to many sports car buyers, the SLK is a much more expensive and exotic Mercedes-Benz is the best that happened to be confused confusion of the design is very good to work for Mercedes-Benz. More than 500,000 were sold over the RWM model during his lifetime. Read more…

2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution SE Review & Test Drive

‘A MORE DISCREET AND LESS EXPENSIVE RALLY RACER FOR THE STREET’

The all-new Limited Edition 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution SE (Special Edition) combines the best of the GSR and MR while saving you more than $3,000.00 off the price for a comparable MR model.  The all-new SE slots nicely between the GSR and MR, and like the new MR, loses the high rear wing in favor of a more discreet rear lip spoiler for downforce enhancement.

The all-new EVO SE features the signature EVO MR ‘shark nose’ front fascia, HID headlamps, foglamps, large side airdams, aggressively styled sloping aluminum hood with air scoop and heat extractors, side fenders with heat extractors, deep lower side extensions, boxed fenders, a working rear air diffuser with dual, 4in. wide polished aluminum exhaust tips, and special SE badging on the lower right trunk panel. 2011 Nissan Maxima SV Review & Test Drive

‘MAXIMIZING THE SPORT IN SEDANS’

The 2011 Nissan Maxima SV puts more fun and excitement when driving a midsize family sedan.  The Maxima SV still has plenty of comfort, room and luxury for families but when the time and place is right, an exciting and exhilarating vehicle to let the daily stress’s of life melt away.

At first glance I see similar features to the Nissan 370Z sports car up front with the boomerang HID headlamp clusters which are set deeper into the front fenders of the Maxima, and the blacked-out horizontal slats of the grille and lower air intake.  The lower front bumper holds the round foglamps and air-intakes to cool down the front disc brakes.  The bulging ‘catamaran-styled’ aluminum hood, similar to the Infiniti M Series, gives Maxima SV a formidable expression, setting the tone for the rest of the car. Is It Legal To Drive Without Auto Insurance?

Some people have this misconception that auto insurance is not an essential thing. However, the fact remains that getting your automobile insured is very essential, especially in the United States of America. So, for all those who have a query “is it legal to drive without auto insurance?” the answer is a big NO. It is 100% compulsory to have sufficient car insurance. Not only it is illegal to drive without one, but is also unsafe for your own life and all the passengers traveling in it.

Getting auto insurance can seem more of a hassle than what it is worth but all the hassle is worth the benefits one gets. The foremost important thing is that if your car is insured then you can call up the insurer for any kind of financial help, as and when required. Being insured helps you get through all the procedures to make sure your automobile gets repaired and all your bills are paid properly. This is why not it is necessary to carry auto insurance but having adequate one is important.

Each state of the United States of America demands each car on the road to carry sufficient auto insurance. And there is a limit on the minimum amount of coverage that your car should have. When you find the right insurance for your vehicle, you will need to keep this minimum amount in mind. However, another thing to understand is that this is the minimum amount and you are always free to extend it. There is no upper limit on the amount of coverage you can have. After all you have to pay the monthly premium and you are the best judge on how much you can pay. The financial experts advise to have double or triple of the set minimum amount for your car insurance coverage. Read more…
