2011 Hyundai Elantra GLS Review & Test Drive

The all-new, totally redesigned, 2011 Hyundai Elantra now takes its proper placement just below the new Sonata when it comes to size. Entering into its fifth-generation, the new 2011 Elantra gets its styling cues directly from the bigger Sonata, which is not a bad thing at all considering how well perceived the Sonata is.

When it comes to vehicles going up against the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Ford Focus and new Chevy Cruze, they better bring their A-game. Hyundai has nothing to worry about because that is just what they did; they brought out unique styling, and decent performance with superb gas mileage all wrapped up in a trusted economic package. Hyundai Curb Concept First Look

Over-stimulation seems to be the name of the game with the restriction Hyundai concept at Detroit Auto Show 2011. Restriction could showcases all the style and technique of the Korean car manufacturer makings of a vehicle, as it seems. It is Hyundai trying to distract the attention of the easily-city apartments, college graduates to start young.

Hyundai is restricted because of the same size as the Kia Soul, youth group transfer. Designer Hyundai Jason Brown said that “we’re tough to urban without looking like a truck Brink’s. Wanted to go beyond City, on the Trail Rubicon, but we wanted to armor urban daily driving on have streets. necessary to enable their passengers in that seat. “What is that side with this type of vehicle to drive? We need more greenhouses, not less, while urban vehicles to see the drivers too easy with two other cars and pedestrians. End the tired urban armor on, please. How many years have we heard the bromide car designer? Too much. Hybrid Cars: 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Sedan review

That great looking, award winning, hot selling mid-size sedan you see turning heads is one of two versions the 2011 Hyundai Sonata duo: the 2.4-liter gasoline direct injection model or the Sonata turbo for those who like to add a little pepper in their driving. And now there’s a third Sonata — the new 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid – which completes the trio.

PHOTO (select to view enlarged photo)

The Sonata Hybrid is the car for those who want to combine great design, amazing mileage in a vehicle that is environmentally and ecologically desirable. With an EPA rating of 35-mpg city, 40-mpg highway the Sonata Hybrid achieves a new level of highway fuel economy for a mid-size sedan. The company has said, “This is consistent with North American driving habits which average more than 50% of their driving mileage on highways.”

PHOTO (select to view enlarged photo)

Sonata Hybrid’s fuel economy is powered by the industry’s first application of third-generation lithium polymer batteries which are more space efficient, lighter weight and offer higher energy density than existing nickel-metal hydride and pending lithium-ion applications. I’ve held the new battery which is about the size of a #10 business envelope that’s filled with a few pages of junk mail and was amazed by its small size and the fact that only 72 of these batteries are used in the Sonata Hybrid. Detroit 2011: 2012 Hyundai Veloster is a Swiss Army Coupe

Hyundai’s funky, tech-packed Veloster has just debuted at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show, and at first blush, the unconventional three-door looks like it’ll go down a storm.

While Hyundai’s North American CEO John Krafcik freely admitted that the Veloster isn’t going to be the quickest car to 60 miles per hour or around a race track (that’s what the Genesis Coupe is for), the Korean nonetheless promises frisky performance from its 1.6-liter engine (138 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 123 pound-feet of torque at 4,850) and available six-speed dual clutch gearbox. A six-speed manual will come as standard-fit, and Hyundai figures that the Veloster will be good for around 40 miles per gallon on the freeway.

RMR Hyundai Genesis Coupe starts Formula D season with Nissan power

When Rhys Millen debuted the new Hyundai Genesis Coupe at the season’s first Formula Drift event at Long Beach, not all was what it seemed. When the factory-supported drift program was announced in February at the Chicago Auto Show, it was still in its formative stages. The original press release noted that the car would be powered by a stroked and turbocharged 4.1-liter version of Hyundai’s Lambda V6 cranking out 550 hp. However, Hyundai didn’t give final approval for the drift program with Millen’s team until mid-January, at which point work began in earnest.

The car shown in Chicago and later at the press introductions for the Genesis Coupe was a stock car with modified bodywork to show what the race car would look like. As it turns out, the three month span between program approval and the Long Beach event wasn’t enough time to get a brand new car and powertrain ready. A reader sent us a tip letting us know that the car that ran in California did not, in fact, have a Hyundai engine installed.

New York Auto Show 2009: Hyundai Nuvis concept hints at next-gen CUVs

The first hint of what we can expect from the next generation Tucson and Santa Fe crossovers was revealed today at the New York Auto Show as the Hyundai Nuvis concept. The sweeping creases echo and expand upon Hyunadi’s design direction that could be seen on the Genesis coupe and sedan and the Korean market Equus that stood on display nearby. Like so many other concepts at the show this year, this one featured doors that will almost certainly not be duplicated in production, extra-long gull-wings in this case.

The interior is designed for exactly four occupants instead of going for the maximum possible seating with three rows. Nuvis designers have dispensed with all the usual switch gear in favor of a river of information flowing throughout the concept’s interior, all of which is accessible through touch-sensitive surfaces. All of the interior fabrics are also made from 100% recycled materials.
